Welcome to the USS Columbus!

A prototype Galaxy-class Refit, the Columbus was originally scheduled for a ten year mission of exploration in the Delta Quadrant by way of the rediscovered Barzan wormhole. With this mission in mind, the ship had been rebuilt from the space-frame up: Bio-neural processors and circuitry, redesigned warp core and power distribution systems, prototype independent transwarp drive, state-of-the-art sensors, upgraded weapons, and an experimental axial phaser cannon. Near the end of her shakedown cruise, however, elements of Task Force 38 made contact with Starfleet Command via the Fourth of July nebula terminus of the wormhole known as the Epatha Gateway. Subsequently, Starfleet has a new task for the Columbus: resupply and reinforce Task Force 38. Now it's a race against time to complete her shakedown, test her prototype transwarp drive, resupply for her mission, and pick up the supplies and personnel for Task Force 38, all before the next 15 minute transit window to the Delta Quadrant.

» Mission Update

Posted on Tue May 1st, 2018 @ 1:22pm by Commander Milo Tora in Sim Announcement

Due to my unexpected and unavoidable absence this weekend, there will be a slight change of plans. We will continue with the new mission as planned, but the current mission, Change of Plans, will remain open until Friday, May 4th. Please complete any open JPs in this mission by then. Any incomplete JPs remaining on Saturday will be labeled as Part I and posted as is and the remaining parts of the JP can be posted to the new mission. All new posts and JPs should be started in the new mission once it's up.

Thanks,
Tora

Posted on Thu Apr 26th, 2018 @ 5:39pm by Commander Milo Tora in Sim Announcement

We will be concluding the current mission and starting the next one on Tuesday, May 1st. Please wrap up your JPs and any posts you want to have done before the Columbus leaves dry-dock by Monday night. Also, to better accommodate the story ideas we've been planning (cue the evil laughter), the XO is changing characters. Same writer, only now its Lt. Cmdr. Sidonie Navarre.

That is all.
Commander Tora

The journals easily took up a half a shelf; worn leather with fraying edges, pages that hadn't lain entirely smooth and flat in more than fifty years. They should have been translated long ago; many had offered but somehow, she'd always been reluctant to part with them. Oh, she'd them…

Sleep had proven elusive and so, Sidonie retreated to the quiet of the after hours gymnasium. She had left a loose-fitting shift on top of her shoes near the entrance; she stood, hair done up in an untidy ponytail and dressed in a comfortable pair of black tights and midriff…
